The Asheville Mardi Gras parade has brought Carnival spirit to the South Slope for 19 years. Organized by local krewes, the procession features colorful floats, and costumed performers celebrating the community's creative and irreverent energy each February. This year, I marched with Save the UNCA Woods, and took just a few photographs.
