Work
I'm VP of Engineering at Kalibri Labs, based in Asheville, NC.
I lead the technology organization responsible for architecting and scaling Kalibri's industry-leading SaaS ecosystem, including the Hummingbird product lines. My teams design, automate, and maintain the cloud infrastructure, complex data pipelines, and client-facing applications that translate massive volumes of hospitality data into actionable, revenue-generating insights for hoteliers. My focus is on setting the technical vision, driving infrastructure automation, ensuring high availability, and building a high-performing engineering culture that delivers solutions fueling business growth and maximizing asset value for our partners.
My career in tech started in 1997 doing Linux systems administration for a rural ISP back when the internet was still figuring itself out. Since then I've worked through network administration, Unix systems, datacenter construction, large-scale e-commerce, and cloud infrastructure at web scale, taking on increasing leadership responsibility along the way.

Photography
Western North Carolina is a generous subject, fog settling into the Blue Ridge, old-growth coves, the way autumn lights up the ridgeline. I shoot the world around me mostly, portraits and landscapes that make up these old mountains, with the occasional detour into travel and anything else that earns a second look. This site is where that work lives.
Games
I've been playing table-top games for most of my life, board games, RPGs, the occasional parlor larp. There's a stack of unplayed games on the shelf that grows faster than I can get people to the table, which is exactly the right problem to have.
Waterfall Atlas
Western North Carolina has hundreds of named waterfalls scattered across the Blue Ridge and the Smokies. I'm working my way through them on foot and building a personal map of every one I reach. It's a long project and a good excuse to hike places I wouldn't otherwise find.
